All Of The Best Brands From The Makeup Show

Like a Comic Con but for makeup lovers

Meetpepperb.com took over the The Makeup Show in New York City at the Manhattan Pavilion this week! Both Pepper and I, Danyelle, attended the event in hopes of finding all the new goodies out their in the beauty sphere.

For those who don’t know, The Makeup Show is a beauty event that caters to professionals of the industry. It’s for students, educators, artists, brand owners, and press. Every professional I’ve met in this industry raves about The Makeup Show and how it is the best of all the conventions.

There are several seminars held where artists share their techniques. In this gif, the artist was teaching everyone how to create clean lines on your canvas’ face. She used tape to create a square around the model’s eye and the tape roll to create a sharp contour for artistic makeup looks.

Throughout the convention, you can see artists creating beautiful works of art. It’s probably my favorite part. I could watch someone apply makeup all day. I live for when a odd shapes melt into an unpredictable outcome.

You also get to discover products and indie brands you may have never come across. Here are just few of the!

Rebels + Outlaws

Wellness and beauty have been blurring their lines lately. They’ve never been isolated from one another but the two are merging together more than ever. That couldn’t be more apparent than with the brand Rebels and Outlaws

To be very honest, this was the first product of the whole day that really spoke to me and pulled me in. Rebels and Outlaws have created their Sacred Ceremony candles “to set up a sacred space and makeup station to conjure up art and service your client with good energy and great product … developed to allow artist and mystics to tap into the universe and find their muse while creating an unforgettable experience” (source).

I picked up two of their candles and had to stop myself from buying them all. They were absolutely stunning, smelled intoxicating, and it was exactly something that I’ve been needing in my meditation.

They also have sprays that help cleanse the energy in a room. If this realm of beauty speaks to you, you should absolutely dive into this brand!

Chrom Tooth Polish

If you’re a loyal reader of our B. News column, and you should be, Chrom Tooth Polish is should be a familiar name to you. We did a story on them back in February! It’s the polish for your teeth that can make them glitter, metallic, and even pastels! They had sent us some product to test out so Pepper and I went live on Instagram to show you what it looked like! It was a really fun product!

We ran into our new friends at the event. They had their own booth where they were painting attendees teeth! They showed us how they have been making small changes that yield big improvements on their products. They’ve added mixing balls to make blending the polish together after separating a little easier. They’ve also released a pro pack collection making it easier to apply the polish to a client rather than in a vial which is more for personal use. They also totally revamped Glitterati Chrom silver glitter shade to be include more chunky glitters and be more pronounced.

Dirty Mind Cosmetics

Because who doesn’t love a dirty joke. This vegan brand is here to make you have fun in makeup again. The beauty industry is no stranger to scandalous names. Nars has Orgasm and Deep Throat as blush shades. But Dirty Mind Cosmetics goes the extra mile and I love it.

With names like "‘Just The Tip’ and ‘BJ,’ answering the question “What lipstick are you wearing” may have you blushing. I feel a bit of kinship to this brand. Some of their shade names are inspired by pop culture films directed by Tim Burton. This is all up my ally, which should be a shade name *awkward wink*

Where Should we go next?
